NINA WINDER-LIND CANNOT BE TAMED IN HER LATEST MUSICAL PROJECT WILD LOVE, AN ENERGETIC AND LOUD ALBUM RIPE WITH PASSION— Brighton based Swedish singer and multi-instrumentalist Nina Winder Lind made her solo debut August 14th on Wild Love, an energetic and loud album ripe with passion. She has a beautiful, shouting, trembling voice accompanied by multiple instruments spanning from wind and brass to strings and percussion. At times explosive and other times gentle, Nina’s Wild Love truly is bold and fearless.

Her lead single “girls” is raw and authentic with such a captivating emotional intensity. On my first listen, I could feel the hairs on my arms stand on end and I wanted more. The music video is devoid of color and has a very DIY quality to it. It is a light hearted video and the lyrics of the song evokes feelings of women empowerment. Within the video are women performing together, gardening together, eating together, they even play pretend sword fighting on the rocky beach together. They are free to do what they like. Nina touches on the nostalgic feelings of girlhood, when girls are free from the expectations of womanhood. There is this call back to girlhood as a form of liberation and freedom within the track. It feels like a daring invitation, “come rebel with me, do what you like!” Nina’s background has so clearly inspired the music video and her presence can be felt in the atmosphere. She is raw and passionate; her lyrics are poetic. Her voice is deep and throaty and powerful. She brings the same energy to the rest of the album.

Nina describes the album as a collection of love songs about “intense emotional entanglement” and she has a great ability to explore very complex feelings in Wild Love. I found that a lot deeply resonated with me. I believe both myself and Nina hope that it does for other women too.
